About ISO 9001
An ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized Quality Management System (QMS) standard, with the purpose of consistently providing customers with the highest quality of products and services possible. Additional benefits often include helping organizations to continually monitor and manage quality across your business so you can identify areas for improvement.
Certification, which must be renewed at regular intervals, means that an independent registrar has audited an organisation’s QMS and certified that it meets ISO 9001 requirements.
The latest revision of ISO 9001 was published in September 2015. ISO 9001:2015 will eventually fully replace ISO 9001:2008 and the companies have until 2018 to update their registration to the new requirements.
